April Fools

We left your hotel room this afternoon
and wandered down to the Esplanade.
It's the 2nd day I've known you.
Your coach leaves at 7, the sky blinks
and all around us it starts to rain.

You see, this is less a means of expression
than an exercise in restraint.
There's always more I dare not say,
so unsure of how a reader thinks.
Just think of it then, as the moth and flame.

you're right - blogging is more an exercise in restraint - to ensure that not too much is said, for you never know who will read your blog, but yet get the message across for those with whom you wish to share. and though you may have wished to be more open with someone initially, the passage of time can change that.

a moth to the flame. i guess its allure lies in its simplicity.
