Gurmit The Frog

Part 2 of pet's special features my albino african clawed frog, xenopus laevis. His name's Gurmit, but he's far more interesting then the host of Singapore Idol. These babies are one of the few frogs who spend their lives totally in water, and they hunt by greedily stuffing fish into their gaping mouths with those creepy little fingers.

Last week of school before we break for the holidays. It seems that the past 3 years have taken their toll, like microscopic fractures propagating in the bones of long-distance runners. Events and expectations transmute into a constant background hum of low-grade depression.

Its times like this when I'm thankful I have a hobby that's not related to other people. Then again, I guess I should take up a sport.
